The famous ‘’De Pijp’’ is one of the most cosmopolitan and vibrant neighborhoods in the South of Amsterdam, but it is close to the City Centre. Formerly it was a working class quarter. It is a very diverse neighborhood with more then 100 different nationalities. The van Woustraat is one of the commercial streets of this district, with many different restaurants, bars and shops. These streets are always busy, but through the whole district you will find coffee shops and a lot of different ethnic food. You cannot visit the de Pijp without visiting the Albert Cuyp market, here you will find more than 100 shops. It is a real Dutch market with many stalls with vegetables, cheese, fish and clothes. The Sarphatipark is located in this district, it is a beautiful urban park. You can escape the busy city and go for a nice walk. The famous Heineken Experience is also located in this district. It is the old brewery of Heineken, but it turned into a museum, where you can get a tour to see how they brewed their beer.
